Event Description

Over the past few years, Americans for Prosperity has worked with coalition groups and activists like you to educate the public on the dangers of the President's health care bill. AFP's Hands Off My Health Care Tour criss-crossed the nation in 2009 hosting over 300 events... and rallies. Then, in late 2009, over 5,000 activists gathered for AFP's Code Red Rally in Washington. We must remind the Court and all of Washington that the President's health care takeover is an affront to free-market principles and our Constitution. Not only is the individual mandate unconstitutional, but it forces consumers to enter the health insurance market against their will. ObamaCare rests on the principle that each individual's body and mind belong to the collective of all Americans.  This is a violation at the most fundamental level of our equal, sovereign individual rights to life, liberty, property, and the pursuit of happiness.  If we lose control of the health and management of our minds and bodies, we have lost ownership of them.  To cede the ownership of our own minds and bodies to the collective, controlled by government, is to commit oneself into slavery.  Without self-ownership, the individual has no basis upon which to assert any individual rights.
